About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Front Royal, Virginia, for a regional, solo-delivery role. Drivers deliver food freight to Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Delaware, North Carolina, and New Jersey. Freight is no-touch; trailers include dry van and reefer 53-foot trailers, and the tractor type is sleeper. Ryder can accommodate an auto restriction. The schedule is Sunday through Friday, with no weekends, and start times between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The position pays weekly and averages $1,595 per week or more. A sign-on bonus pays $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days, and paid training is provided. Hazmat endorsement is preferred. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Be prepared for additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
