About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Front Royal, Virginia, for regional, solo deliveries to Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Delaware, North Carolina, and New Jersey. The position involves food freight that is no-touch, using a 53-foot dry van or reefer trailer and a sleeper tractor. The schedule is Sunday through Friday, with start times between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.; the posting describes this as “NO WEEKENDS.” Pay is weekly, averaging $1,595 or more per week. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is paid in two installments: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days. Paid training is provided. Ryder trucks are described as well-maintained and 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The role can accommodate an auto restriction. Hazmat endorsement is preferred. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle meeting one of these thresholds: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
