About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in DeSoto, Texas. This local, home-daily role delivers solo to Arkansas and Texas, hauling no-touch auto-parts freight in a 53-foot dry van with a day-cab tractor. Routes use drop-and-hook operations. Drivers work Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with an AM or PM start time determined through a monthly bid process. Drivers are paid weekly, with a guaranteed weekly amount of $1,325. Additional pay includes $0.555 per solo mile, $10.50 per solo stop, and $6.25 per drop or hook. The posting also advertises shutdown, safety, and sign-on bonuses, as well as paid training. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
