About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Redford, Michigan. The role delivers auto parts to Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio on local routes, with the driver home daily. Freight is no-touch, using a day-cab tractor and a 53-foot dry van. Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

The position pays $28.38 per hour, with weekly pay and 45 or more hours per week. Drivers may also earn a quarterly safety bonus of $250. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some weekends, and a 6:00 a.m. start time.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading, if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
