About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Springfield, Massachusetts. This local transfer position pays $22.50 per hour, with weekly pay advertised as $900 per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM, and drivers are home daily. The route involves shuttling equipment between Ryder customer facilities, moving empty trailers, and handling no-touch freight.

Drivers operate trucks that are 36 months old or newer and have access to 24/7 roadside maintenance by Ryder-trained technicians. Service employees fuel trucks at Ryder maintenance facilities. The role requires safely driving a commercial vehicle, complying with safety and DOT regulations, participating in continuous training, and providing customer service.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some assignments may require additional employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
• Shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities, including empty trailers for equipment transfer movement.
• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Participate in continuous training and provide customer service.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
