About The Position

Xcel Energy anticipates hiring one or more Troublemen at the Chestnut Service Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Troubleman classification involves first response for overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems. The employee is expected to be self-motivated, work well with others, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality customer service, customer satisfaction, and productive work. The position requires participation in after-hours emergency callouts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hold a Journeyman Lineman Certificate.
• Working knowledge of all phases of distribution, construction, maintenance, and operating.
• Meet driver qualifications as specified and hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Be self-motivated, work well with others, and possess a positive attitude.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate commitment to working productively and safely.
• Be able to safely lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Troubleman and/or first responder experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of the Troubleman classification, including first response for overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems.
• Participate in after-hours emergency callouts.
