About The Position

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for customer satisfaction, including increasing throughput, decreasing downtime, performing regular preventive maintenance, and completing upgrades. The role advocates for customers internally and externally while representing the company. It is part of the Global Service Organization and reports to the District Manager. The position is based remotely from the employee’s home and covers the Northwest Service District, including the Greater Minneapolis area and Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The engineer services Beckman Coulter products at customer facilities, cultivates customer relationships, and supports commercial initiatives. They drive urgency in addressing customer needs and emphasize resolving problems with a first-time fix. Overnight travel is expected 25%–50%.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, or life science, or equivalent military experience.
At least 1 year of experience problem-solving, diagnosing, or troubleshooting instrumentation challenges using a variety of methods.
Ability to commute to customer facilities within the assigned territory.
Ability to travel overnight 25%–50%.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to occasionally lift, lower, and move up to 50 lbs. of tools, replacement parts, and consumables.

Prior laboratory or field service experience.
