About The Position

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is hiring a Trimmer to perform tree pruning and removal work for major electric utility providers. The role involves climbing trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems, working safely and skillfully, and supporting the crew in the field. The position is on site in Richmond, Virginia, with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Requirements

Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Valid driver's license.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B, with Airbrake Endorsement.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member with the supporting ground crew and foreperson.
