About The Position

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a Utility Tree Trimmer to join its utility line clearance team in Ocala, Florida. The position is performed outdoors and involves climbing trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems. The employee performs tree pruning and removal safely for major electric utility providers, maintains and operates job-specific tools and equipment, and works as an active crew member alongside ground crew and a foreperson. The role is permanent and full-time, with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver's License—Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional® certification.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member in support of the ground crew and foreperson.
