About The Position

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is hiring an experienced line clearance trimmer to serve the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County regions of Ohio, including Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia. The role performs tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers. The position is on site, with travel expectations of up to 25%. The office is outdoors, with a new view every day. Pay is $22.00–$24.00 per hour, based on line clearance or industry experience and CDL status. Employment is permanent and full time. The role involves climbing trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems, maintaining and operating tools and equipment, and working as an active crew member alongside ground crew and a foreperson. Employees must be able to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program and the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire. Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License—Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Safely and skillfully perform tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and the foreperson.
