About The Position

Davey Utility Line Clearance is hiring an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to serve the Northwestern Ohio region, including Findlay, Bowling Green, Lima, and surrounding areas. This is an on-site, full-time, permanent hourly position. The role performs tree pruning and removal for major electric utility providers, with work taking place outdoors. Climbing experience and a CDL are preferred. Compensation is $24.00–$26.00 per hour, based on line-clearance or industry experience and CDL status. Travel expectations are up to 25%.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or B, with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Line-clearance experience or other related tree-work experience.
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional® certification.
• Climbing experience.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and skillfully perform tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree-identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Work as an active crew member alongside the ground crew and foreperson.
