About The Position

Davey Utility Line Clearance is hiring an experienced line clearance climbing trimmer to service the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric, including Wellington and Ashland. The work is performed outdoors and involves safely and skillfully pruning and removing trees for major electric utility providers. The role uses DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems and requires operating and maintaining tree-care tools and equipment. This is a permanent, full-time, onsite position with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License—Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Safely and skillfully perform tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Properly maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member in support of the ground crew and foreperson.
