About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Triage Nurse Advisor to independently triage patient calls about symptoms, medication refills, test results, and facility information. Advisors handle approximately six calls per hour, with calls lasting 6–9 minutes, and help callers navigate the health care system. The role focuses on quality assessment, efficient care management, and caller satisfaction. The opening is 0.2 FTE (16 hours per week) on an evening shift from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with an every-other-weekend rotation. Training requires flexibility to work full time on-site for 4–6 weeks, on variable shifts that may include days, mid-shifts, evenings, and weekends. After training, the role is remote, but the work-from-home location must be within driving distance of the Midway Corporate Campus in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Requirements

Current Minnesota RN license.
At least 3 years of RN work experience.
Wisconsin RN license, with an application submitted within 30 days of hire and the license obtained within 120 days of hire.
Computer skills, including reliable documentation in electronic health record software.
RN triage experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

Independently triage patient calls and provide timely, appropriate responses.

Collect callers’ concerns, medical histories, and symptom descriptions by telephone using the nursing process.

Assist callers in navigating the health care system.
