About The Position

AWARE is seeking a Treatment Service Specialist to provide direct support to children with special needs in a school setting. The role uses a wrap-around approach to support each child's success at school and at home, and involves working closely with parents, teachers, school personnel, and the treatment team. The Specialist helps youth build practical and social skills while contributing to a compassionate, inclusive, and community-focused care environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or HSE is required.
Past employment experience is required.
Computer literacy, including the ability to navigate and record information using performance-based software and an electronic medical records system.
Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills sufficient to work as a team member, make and accurately report observations, learn resident care methods, and follow oral and written instructions.
Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Montana Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record.
Must pass an acceptable criminal and protective services background check.

Nice To Haves

A BS/BA degree in a human services-related field is preferred; an equivalency may be considered based on documented work history, education, and volunteer experience.

Responsibilities

Provide direct services to children with special needs in the school setting.

Communicate behavioral and emotional observations to the treatment team, and participate in team-building meetings and activities.
Use a wrap-around approach to support the child's success in school and at home.
Assist youth in developing coping, social and recreational, independent living, mediation and conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
