About The Position
This is a NON-PAID philanthropic board member position for a Board Treasurer. This role is for an executive who wants to give back and likely has experienced the cancer journey with a friend or loved one. As a nonprofit board member, you will contribute your time, talent, and treasure. This is a 'working board,' meaning board members are involved in operations and donate an average of 5 hours per week. There is a donation requirement for board members, as funders require that our board be donors before they will provide grants.
Requirements
- Experience in financial accounting
- 5-10 years of job experience in QuickBooks Bookkeeping, Budgeting, Projections, Finance, Reporting, 990 preparations, and Board Financial Reports
- Must be local to the Los Angeles metro area (Monrovia, San Gabriel Valley)

Responsibilities
- Serve as the financial officer of the organization
- Help develop a finance committee and serve as Chair of the finance committee
- Manage, with the finance committee, the board’s review of and action related to organization finances
- Work with the chief executive to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the board on a timely basis
- Assist the chief executive in preparing the annual budget and presenting the budget to the board for approval
- Work with CEO to develop project budgets for grant applications
- Ensure development and board review of financial policies and procedures
