About The Position

We are ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies, seeking a Traveling Superintendent for a long-term career opportunity based outside of Indianapolis, IN. This role involves managing the construction process from the field, leading scopes or site logistics with ground-up, data center projects that are 100K sq ft and above. You will manage the construction and administrative activities associated with the field operations of a project from day one, ensuring completion on schedule, within budget, and per project specifications.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of construction experience as a superintendent on data center projects (minimum 100k sq ft).
  • Willingness to work at a site located in Sullivan, Indiana.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet physical demands: standing/walking for long periods (sometimes on uneven terrain), bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award review meetings for project information and preplanning.
  • Participate in preparing construction schedules, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
  • Direct and control construction projects to meet specifications, timelines, and profit expectations.
  • Assist project manager/engineer with material shipment, equipment, and shop drawing approvals.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities for effective integration with project schedules.
  • Inform supervisors and subcontractors of construction schedule changes.
  • Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports.
  • Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports.
  • Cooperate with the owner and representatives, providing updates on construction progress.
  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives in the company's long-term interest.
  • Hold job site meetings with project manager and regional manager.
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential issues.
  • Maintain a daily diary of significant project facts, events, conditions, and contacts.
  • Direct adherence to the company's safety program.
  • Make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Organize people, tools, and equipment; plan and manage multiple activities.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, facing challenges and addressing conflict.
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating processes, making changes, and meeting customer expectations.
  • Act with integrity, supporting the company's values and focusing on customer requirements.
