About The Position

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent with 5-15+ years of leadership experience in light industrial and/or data center construction projects. As an ARCO/Murray Superintendent, you will manage all administrative tasks associated with construction and field operations for your project from day one. The goal is to empower you in the field with the necessary tools to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.

Requirements

  • 5-15+ years of construction experience.
  • At least 5 years as a Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, or Lead Superintendent on light industrial or mission critical projects.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling programs.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver license in your state of residence.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing or walking for long periods, sometimes on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Previous experience leading MEP trades on data center, battery storage, or manufacturing facility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award review meetings to receive project information and details for preplanning.
  • Participate with the project manager in preparing the construction schedule, organization structure, staff selection, and manpower/equipment requirements.
  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications, stay within the allotted time schedule, and ensure efficient operations to achieve expected profit.
  • Assist the project manager/engineer with prompt shipment of materials and permanent equipment, and obtaining approvals for shop drawings and material samples.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure effective performance and integration with project schedules.
  • Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
  • Assist in the preparation of job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs.
  • Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents.
  • Cooperate with the owner and their representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
  • Cooperate with architects or owner representatives on an amicable basis, in the long-term interest of the company.
  • Hold job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
  • Report regularly to the project manager regarding job progress, plans, and potential issues affecting costs or schedules.
  • Maintain a daily diary to record significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all project phases and areas.
  • Make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Organize people, tools, and equipment, and plan/manage multiple activities to achieve desired results.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, facing challenges, directing others, and addressing conflict.
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating and improving processes, using customer input, and meeting/exceeding customer expectations.
  • Act with integrity, supporting the company, its values, and employees, while focusing on meeting/exceeding customer requirements.
