About The Position

Cranial Technologies is seeking a Nationwide Traveling Occupational Therapist based out of Chicago, IL. This is a full-time position where you will practice in various Cranial Technologies locations across the United States. The role is in a pediatric clinical outpatient setting, working exclusively with infants. This unique opportunity allows you to treat patients in child-friendly, state-of-the-art clinics. You will travel to any state where Cranial Technologies has a clinic, with travel typically occurring Monday afternoons/evenings and clinic work Tuesday-Friday, returning home Friday afternoons/evenings. Assignments are provided 2+ weeks in advance. The company covers travel expenses and provides a per diem. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced and new settings, potentially working in a different clinic each week and meeting new families and teammates.

Requirements

  • Licensed OT
  • 500 hours of basic orthotic fitting experience with off-the-shelf orthotic devices (e.g., splints, braces, maternity belts)
  • State-issued REAL ID compliant license or equivalent TSA accepted travel documentation required by start date
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Ability to travel every week, either to a local clinic or to another state.
  • Proximity to a major airport for ease of travel booking.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in pediatrics is preferred.
  • Experience with symmetry and asymmetry, cervical anatomy, torticollis, and infant/toddler development.
  • Experience in hands-on patient care and compassion for families.
  • Capability to treat the whole patient.
  • Hands-on experience with orthotics and direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Treat infants to reshape head shapes with the DOC Band® and correct ear shapes with EarWell®.
  • Serve as an expert in the evaluation and treatment of plagiocephaly and conditions involving misshapen ears.
  • Develop strong relationships with families throughout the treatment process.
  • Take over caseloads from other clinicians, meeting new families regularly.
  • Travel to various Cranial Technologies clinic locations across the United States.
