About The Position

The Traveling Floor Technician is based at Bon Secours St Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, and provides floor care at hospital sites throughout Northern Ohio. The role supports a safe, clean, and comfortable hospital environment where patients can heal, while delivering friendly and kind service to people in the hospital. Reliable transportation and travel to assigned sites are required. Full-time positions are available, with day, evening, and night shifts available. Applicants must pass a background check and drug screen and provide proof of employment eligibility in the United States. Some healthcare facilities require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption.

Requirements

Must be at least 17 years old.
Reliable transportation is required.
Must be able to travel to sites throughout Northern Ohio.
Must communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and be in uniform.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of continuous standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching; frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of furniture and equipment weighing 25–100 lb.; and continuous pushing and pulling of carts or equipment weighing over 100 lb. on tile and carpeted floors.
Must handle chemicals including bleach, wax, and disinfectants.
Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

Housekeeping experience, such as cleaning, environmental services, custodial or janitorial work, room attendant work, floor care, hotel operations, or healthcare experience.
Veterans and candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning, buffing, and bonneting procedures to maintain floors.
Perform floor stripping and extraction projects as assigned.
Travel to assigned hospital sites throughout Northern Ohio as scheduled.
Follow all HHS cleaning procedures and best practices.
Provide friendly and kind service to all individuals in the hospital.
Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently.
