About The Position

This is a temporary assignment for a Travel Registered Nurse Unit Manager in Calais, ME. The role involves providing unit-level leadership, coordinating patient care, and managing nursing operations. The position requires a minimum of 4 years of acute care experience and strong leadership and communication skills. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a night shift of 3x12 hours.

Requirements

Active registered nurse license in the State of Maine or authorization to practice pending licensure by endorsement.
BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required within 6 months of hire.
BSN preferred or willing to obtain BSN.
Minimum 4 years of acute care experience.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage care during night-shift operations.

Responsibilities

Provide unit-level leadership under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing, supervising nursing staff in the absence of Unit Directors.
Coordinate age-appropriate patient care activities in accordance with facility standards, policies, and procedures.
Manage nursing operations to support efficient delivery of care across the nursing services.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values in daily practice.
Demonstrate clinical proficiency in age-appropriate patient care using the nursing process.
Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills, with effective conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
Function independently and respond rapidly and effectively in emergency situations.
