About The Position

This is a hospital-based travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Phoenix, Arizona. The assignment is for 26 weeks with a start date of 09/28/2026. The nurse will work 36 guaranteed hours per week on a 3x12 rotating shift schedule. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, monitoring patient status, administering medications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, documenting patient information, and promoting safety and infection prevention. The assignment is managed through ShiftWise Flex, which handles compliance, billing, and assignment management, with dedicated support from Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Requirements

• Active Arizona RN license or compact-state license with multistate privileges prior to start
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• Advanced NRP certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in pediatric critical care; Level III or IV NICU hospital experience preferred
• ADN, BSN or Diploma in Nursing; ability to work in a hospital setting and float between CVICU, NICU, and PICU

Nice To Haves

• Level III or IV NICU hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients in PICU, CVICU, and NICU per individualized plans of care
• Monitor patient status, interpret findings, and respond to changes in condition following evidence-based protocols
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage life-support equipment as directed; monitor ventilator care as applicable
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including families, physicians, and ancillary staff; participate in rounds and updates to the plan of care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record; ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements
• Promote safety, infection prevention, and high-quality care; respond to emergencies per hospital policy
