About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Perm candidates from other providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All Swedish facilities honor active compact licenses. First-time travelers with experience are accepted. Floating to NICU or other units within skill set is required, with orientation provided. Weekends are every other weekend. Certifications required include BLS and PALS. NRP and CRRT are preferred. For Aya offers, up to 3 days of RTO will be accepted; anything else will be a screen. No holiday RTO is accepted. Perm staff self-schedule first, and travelers must meet unit needs.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience.
  • BLS certification (REQUIRED).
  • PALS certification (REQUIRED).
  • Pediatric Critical Care experience.
  • Experience with ENT, General Surgery, Ortho, Post-Op/Pre-Op.
  • Experience with Breathing Treatments.
  • Experience with Chest Tube Set-up/Care.
  • Experience with CPAP/BiPap.
  • Experience with High Frequency Vents, Oscillators.
  • Experience with Procedure Sedation.
  • Experience with RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs.
  • Experience with Trach Care, Vents.
  • Experience with Blood/Blood Products Administration.
  • Experience with CVP.
  • Experience obtaining 12 Lead EKG.
  • Experience with Drains, Epidural Pumps, PCA Pumps.
  • Experience with PICC/Central Lines.
  • Experience with Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care.
  • Experience with Syringe Pumps, Traction/Halo/Pin Care.
  • Experience with Triple Lumen Catheter.
  • Experience with Wound Vac.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Charge Experience Preferred.
  • NRP certification (Preferred).
  • CRRT certification (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Float to NICU or other units within skill set as needed.
  • Administer breathing treatments.
  • Set up and care for chest tubes.
  • Manage CPAP/BiPap and High Frequency Vents/Oscillators.
  • Perform procedure sedation and administer RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs).
  • Provide Trach Care and manage Vents.
  • Administer blood and blood products.
  • Obtain CVP and 12-lead EKGs.
  • Manage drains and epidural pumps.
  • Administer PCA pumps.
  • Provide care for PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care.
  • Manage Syringe Pumps, Traction/Halo/Pin Care, Triple Lumen Catheters, and Wound Vacs.
