Travel Registered Nurse Neuro Job
About The Position
This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in an acute-care neuro unit within a regional health network in New York State. The assignment is for 17 weeks, starting on 09/28/2026, with 12-hour night shifts. The role involves working in a specialized neurological care environment with telemetry and advanced monitoring, caring for patients with various neuro conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care and support patients and families through complex neurologic illness and recovery.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York (NY RN license only)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adults with neurological conditions on a telemetry-enabled unit
- Perform comprehensive neuro assessments, including NIHSS scoring, and monitor for changes in status
- Support continuous EEG/telemetry monitoring and coordinate with neurology and epilepsy specialist teams
- Administer medications and therapies per orders; monitor for adverse effects and interactions
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and adjust individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families, discharge planning, and coordination of post-hospital care as appropriate
