About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Neurology, located in Rochester, NY. The contract is for 17 weeks, starting on 09/28/2026. The role involves working on a hospital-based neurology/telemetry unit, providing care to patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. The position offers 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

Active RN license in New York
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
NIHSS certification
Telemetry experience required
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a hospital/acute-care setting, with rotating assignments as needed

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to neuro patients in a telemetry-filled environment, addressing stroke and epilepsy-related needs and other neurological conditions.
Perform frequent neurological assessments, monitor neuro status, document findings, and respond to changes in condition per protocol.
Administer prescribed medications, monitor for adverse effects, and maintain seizure precautions; support epilepsy monitoring activities as assigned.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized care plans; assist with diagnostic testing and continuous EEG-related activity as applicable.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and treatment expectations; ensure safe transitions of care.
