About The Position
Registered Nurse with Neuro specialty for a travel assignment in Rochester, NY. Requirements
- Active NYS Registered Nurse license
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience
- NIHSS evaluation capability or NIHSS certification/training
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for neuro/med-surg telemetry patients, with careful neurologic assessment and timely response to changes
- Monitor neurological status and utilize NIHSS protocols as part of routine care and escalation
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies; monitor for adverse reactions and outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams; document care accurately in the medical record
- Assist with discharge planning and patient/family education to support safe transitions
- May assume expanded roles as assigned, including charge nurse, preceptor, or committee responsibilities
