About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) located in Lawrenceville, GA. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/09/2026. The role involves providing direct bedside care to adult MICU patients in a critical care/ICU environment. Experience with Cerner documentation and COVID ICU care is required. The position offers guaranteed hours and a night shift schedule.

Requirements

Active registered nurse license
Minimum 2 years MICU/ICU experience
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Cerner ICU/COVID ICU experience
Holiday scheduling requirement: must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and/or New Year’s Day) and 1 minor holiday (e.g., the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve)

Responsibilities

Provide direct bedside care to adult MICU patients, with ongoing assessments, monitoring, and timely escalation of concerns.
Administer medications and therapies per orders, including vasoactive infusions and antibiotics; monitor for adverse effects.
Manage airway and ventilator support, hemodynamics, and other life-sustaining treatments per unit protocol.
Document care and patient responses in Cerner; perform accurate medication reconciliation and routine flow sheet updates.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case management); participate in rounds and care planning.
Monitor neurological status and perform NIHSS assessments as needed; coordinate neuro checks and escalation as appropriate.
