About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse (RN) position for a Med/Surg unit in Atlanta, GA. The assignment is for 16 weeks, with a start date of 09/20/2026. The role involves providing direct patient care to adult and older adult med-surg patients, including trauma cases and those on anticoagulation therapy. The nurse will administer medications, monitor patient responses, manage IV therapy, perform assessments, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and maintain safety and infection control standards. Documentation in the medical record is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

BLS and ACLS required.
Documented med-surg and telemetry experience.
Ability to work effectively in a hospital environment as a travel RN.
Meet unit-specific credentialing and orientation requirements.
No RTO on certain EMR systems per unit policy.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to adult and older adult med-surg patients, including trauma cases and patients receiving heparin drips, under physician orders.
Administer medications, monitor responses, manage IV therapy, and adjust care plans per orders.
Perform focused patient assessments, monitor vitals and lab results, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team; participate in rounds.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case management, and support staff to coordinate care and plan discharge.
Maintain safety and infection control standards; assist with activities of daily living and mobility using appropriate assistive devices (gait belts, geriatric chairs, PT equipment) as needed.
Document care in the medical record and ensure required demographic data is loaded into the system.
