About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) located in Dundee, Kansas. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/20/2026, with a 3x12 schedule for 12-hour day shifts. The role is within a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting and is a temporary assignment through Healthforce Healthcare LLC. The nurse may be required to float within their scope to the ED as needed.

Requirements

• Current Kansas RN license or a compact license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of hospital med-surg experience
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 setting
• Weekend requirements: two weekends per month
• On-call requirements: one shift per month
• Floating within scope to ED as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor effects, manage IV therapy, and document in the electronic medical record.
• Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, intervene promptly, and escalate to the care team as appropriate.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in rounds, assist with admissions, discharges, and discharge planning, and educate patients and families.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control practices, accurate charting, and proper use of clinical equipment.
• May float within the defined scope to the ED and assist with transfers, admissions, or discharges as assigned.
