About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Labor and Delivery Nurse (RN) in Templeton, California. The contract is for 18 weeks, starting on 08/31/2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The shift is a night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), consisting of three 12-hour shifts, with no on-call requirements. The role is at a 122-bed short-term acute care facility that provides obstetric services, emergency care, and related perinatal care.

Requirements

Current RN license in California
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course required
Associate Degree in Nursing required
Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience
LDRP care model experience preferred
EPIC EMR experience required
Ability to work in a high-acuity perinatal setting
No on-call expectations
Must meet facility-specific credentialing standards and AH policy requirements for BLS/ACLS/NRP.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including emergency situations and circulating for C-sections.
Lead a multidisciplinary care plan and delegate tasks to licensed/unlicensed staff within scope of practice.
Competently assess fetal and maternal well-being, monitor amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, and recognize and respond to perinatal abnormalities.
Manage pain control during labor and support alternative methods when appropriate; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitoring.
Educate patients and families across perinatal and postpartum periods using culturally appropriate teaching methods.
Document all nursing care accurately and timely, evaluating patient responses to interventions.
