About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at a hospital-based unit in Delano, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/14/2026. The role involves delivering coordinated nursing care, monitoring patients, administering medications, documenting care, supervising nursing staff, and educating patients and families. The nurse will utilize critical thinking and professional judgment to implement care plans and promote patient safety. The position offers 3x12-hour day shifts per week, with guaranteed hours.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in California (in good standing)
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; labor and delivery or perinatal experience preferred
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
Ability to work 12-hour day shifts; willingness to participate in a travel assignment
BLS certification (required)

Responsibilities

Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients in the labor and delivery setting, following the nursing process and established standards of care.
Monitor and reassess patients, administer medications as ordered, and document care accurately; respond promptly to changes in patient status.
Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including obstetrics, anesthesia, neonatal, and other services.
Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent discretion to plan and implement patient care plans; promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, postpartum care, and discharge planning; provide supportive care and resource guidance as needed.
