About The Position

This is a hospital-based travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Liberal, Kansas. The assignment is for a 13-week contract with a start date of 08/31/2026. The RN will provide care across L&D, postpartum, couplet care, newborn nursery, and OB/GYN post-op services. The role involves a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Requirements

Active Kansas RN license
BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
Minimum 3 years of RN experience
Specialized L&D experience strongly preferred
Must have completed at least 2 prior travel contracts; not a first-time traveler
Must be located over 45 miles from the facility; mileage must be listed on submission packet
On-site drug screen (FDI) and a DS (drug screen) required for compliance
Ability to work the night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am) on a 3x12 schedule

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care for labor and delivery patients, including postpartum, couplet care, newborn nursery, and OB/GYN post-op patients.
Monitor maternal and fetal status, manage medications, and assist with labor and delivery procedures as needed.
Collaborate with obstetric, anesthesia, pediatric, and nursing teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
Document assessments, care plans, progress notes, and patient education in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, newborn care, and postpartum discharge planning; uphold infection control and safety standards.
Backfill duties across L&D and related units as required to support patient flow and unit needs.
