About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D) in Everett, WA. The assignment is set to begin on 09/21/2026 and will last for several weeks. The role involves providing direct intrapartum care, assisting with cesarean deliveries, delivering postpartum and couplet care, and managing high-risk antepartum conditions. The nurse will be expected to document in Epic, collaborate with various hospital departments, and may float to postpartum as needed. The work setting is a hospital unit with high-risk perinatal care capabilities, including Level II NICU and elements of Level III care.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Washington; compact license accepted; license must be in hand at submission.
  • Certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate OR Relias Fetal Monitoring (hard stops).
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience in labor and delivery; first-time travel RNs accepted; minimum 1 year for submittal per system rules.
  • RN degree from an approved program and eligibility to practice in WA.
  • Epic charting experience required.
  • Submittal and compliance: SSN and DOB required; provide all requested RTO upfront; background check: facility does not accept Nursys or background discrepancies/hits.
  • Holiday commitment: must work 3 of the 5 specified holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day).
  • Ability to work in a high-risk perinatal setting and to float to postpartum as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct intrapartum care with 1:1 labor management, sterile vaginal exams, fetal monitoring (external/internal, including IUPC), and continuous assessment of maternal–fetal status.
  • Assist and circulate for cesarean deliveries; support perioperative and recovery processes as part of the obstetric team.
  • Deliver postpartum and couplet care, including hemorrhage management, breastfeeding support, and discharge teaching.
  • Manage high-risk antepartum conditions (e.g., preeclampsia/HELLP, magnesium sulfate, induction/oxytocin, VBAC management) and respond to rapid changes in patient condition.
  • Document in Epic; collaborate with respiratory, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response, and interpretation services; participate in on-site coverage as assigned.
  • May float to postpartum as needed and participate in unit teamwork focused on safe, patient-centered care.
