About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for a Registered Nurse in a hospital-based Radiation Oncology setting in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The assignment is for approximately 13 weeks, starting on 09/22/2026. The role involves providing direct nursing care to Radiation Oncology patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and educating patients and families. The nurse will coordinate patient care, document in the electronic medical record, and maintain safety and infection control standards. This position also acts as a liaison between Radiation Oncology and other departments to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

RN with current Colorado license in good standing
Active Colorado RN license in good standing
BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
Minimum 2 years of RN Radiation Oncology experience (not Oncology RN experience)
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to coordinate oncology patient care with an interprofessional team
Knowledge of care for patients across varying age groups, development stages, and cultural backgrounds
Ability to work in a clinic/hospital oncology setting

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care for Radiation Oncology patients in collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist and multidisciplinary team
Assess patients, plan and implement nursing interventions, and monitor for actual or potential treatment-related problems
Educate patients and families, offer counseling and supportive services to help cope with cancer diagnosis and treatment
Coordinate oncology patient care with interdisciplinary staff, including referrals to supportive resources as needed
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record; maintain safety and infection control standards
Act as a liaison between Radiation Oncology and other departments, ensuring continuity of care across the treatment and follow-up phases
