About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Primary Care, located in Juneau, Alaska. The assignment is for 19 weeks, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The setting is ambulatory/outpatient care within a hospital-affiliated care program. The role involves providing clinical nursing services, collaborating with providers and staff, leading clinic operations, managing inventory, performing quality control, and ensuring effective patient care coordination.

Requirements

Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state; active Alaska license required at time of submittal
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
2 years of primary care experience
Knowledge of nursing process, safety and infection control principles
Strong communication skills and ability to multitask; capable of working independently and as part of a team
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs; able to stand, walk, and perform duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting

Responsibilities

Provide clinical nursing services in the outpatient setting, collaborating with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care.
Lead and direct clinic staff, supporting front desk operations and patient care to maintain smooth daily workflow.
Maintain medication inventory and supplies not listed in the Warehouse PAR system; assist with clinic opening and closing as needed.
Perform quality control checks for Point of Care testing and ensure accurate documentation of all care and services in the patient record.
Anticipate and respond to provider and staff needs to promote timely, coordinated care; communicate effectively with other departments to support patient outcomes.
Uphold infection control policies, participate in mandatory trainings and in-services, and maintain a clean, safe work environment; report safety hazards as appropriate.
