About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Primary Care, located in Juneau, Alaska. The assignment is for 19 weeks, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The setting is ambulatory/outpatient care within a hospital-affiliated care program. The role involves providing clinical nursing services, collaborating with providers and staff, leading clinic operations, managing inventory, performing quality control, and ensuring effective patient care coordination.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state; active Alaska license required at time of submittal
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 2 years of primary care experience
  • Knowledge of nursing process, safety and infection control principles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask; capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs; able to stand, walk, and perform duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical nursing services in the outpatient setting, collaborating with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care.
  • Lead and direct clinic staff, supporting front desk operations and patient care to maintain smooth daily workflow.
  • Maintain medication inventory and supplies not listed in the Warehouse PAR system; assist with clinic opening and closing as needed.
  • Perform quality control checks for Point of Care testing and ensure accurate documentation of all care and services in the patient record.
  • Anticipate and respond to provider and staff needs to promote timely, coordinated care; communicate effectively with other departments to support patient outcomes.
  • Uphold infection control policies, participate in mandatory trainings and in-services, and maintain a clean, safe work environment; report safety hazards as appropriate.
