About The Position

This is a travel, temporary assignment for an Inpatient Pharmacist in Alturas, California. The assignment is for 8 weeks, starting on 09/14/2026. The role involves supporting inpatient pharmacy services, ensuring safe and accurate medication use, and complying with regulations under pharmacy leadership. The weekly pay range is $2,520–$2,694 with guaranteed hours of 36 per week. Shifts are 8-hour days, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Active California Pharmacist license.
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college.
Current BLS certification.
Knowledge of or experience in inpatient/hospital pharmacy settings; ability to work within a clinical care environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Compound, dispense, and verify prescribed medications for inpatient care, ensuring accuracy, dosing, stability, and compatibility.
Review inpatient orders for accuracy, determine formulas and ingredients, and resolve discrepancies with prescribers as needed.
Direct and supervise pharmacy technicians and interns in dispensing, labeling, and packaging activities per state/federal requirements.
Provide drug information to clinicians and staff; participate in rounds and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on therapy decisions.
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, ensure security of controlled substances, and document medication use and incidents as required.
Manage data entry for patient records, charges, and inventory, while supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
