About The Position

This is a travel temporary assignment for a Physical Therapist in an Inpatient Rehab setting located in Indio, California. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 01/27/2027, with guaranteed 40 hours per week. The role involves day shifts in an outpatient rehabilitation setting that focuses on inpatient rehab-inspired care within a rehabilitation program. The position offers weekly pay ranging from $2,054 to $2,175 and the opportunity to enhance patient mobility, function, and strength in a collaborative clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Active Physical Therapist license in California (or eligibility to obtain/plan to test in the state of work).
  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT).
  • Ability to work in an outpatient rehabilitation setting; proficient in EMR documentation and patient charting.
  • Knowledge of PT billing policies and ICD-10 coding; familiarity with Medicare, work comp, private pay, and related documentation.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to supervise PT Assistants and Aides; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and supporting patient transfers; comply with HIPAA and OSHA policies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength; evaluate and treat patients within a rehab plan.
  • Utilize an Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, generate reports, and prepare discharge summaries for patient files.
  • Supervise PT Assistants and Aides, coordinating with physicians and other staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance; communicate with coworkers and other offices via phone, fax, and email.
  • Document accurately, manage follow-up on prescriptions and test results, and participate in scheduling coordination with front office staff.
  • Demonstrate independence in clinical decision-making and maintain current PT skills and certifications as necessary; assist with DX and ICD-10 coding for billing as appropriate.
