About The Position

The Trauma Services – Clinical Supervisor provides comprehensive outpatient mental health services to support the mental and emotional health of agency clients, prospective clients, and community members. The position also supervises clinical trainees and supports child and family services programming. It reports to the Director of Clinical Services. The supervisor provides counseling and psychotherapy to individuals, families, and children, including intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations, and provides on-site counseling at one or more Jewish Family Services branch locations. The role includes clinical supervision and consultation with multidisciplinary department staff, clinical externs with trauma specialties, Master’s-level interns, and licensed staff. The supervisor signs case records and treatment reviews and serves as a clinical consultant or supervisor in accordance with state certification and agency requirements. The position maintains confidential client records and statistical data in compliance with agency and state requirements, provides referrals and IPV education or consultation as assigned, and collaborates with agency personnel, volunteers, and outside professionals. The supervisor participates in supervisory and peer review processes, professional development, and agency representation and promotion in the Jewish community and the broader community. The role requires maintaining active licensure in good standing, completing required continuing education, and complying with Wisconsin caregiver background check and misconduct reporting requirements.

Requirements

Hold a valid Wisconsin license from the Wisconsin Social Work Examining Board, Wisconsin Marriage and Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling; listed licenses include LCSW, LMFT, and LPC. The Social Work Examining Board license is identified as preferred.
Maintain good standing with the licensing board.
Have at least five years of experience since licensure, including three years focused on VOCA.
Successfully pass criminal and caregiver background checks with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Department of Health Services, Department of Children and Families, and Department of Safety and Professional Services.
Meet third-party billing eligibility requirements.
Demonstrate an understanding of family issues related to separation and divorce.
Possess knowledge of diagnosis and treatment, including psychodynamics, group process, client advocacy, and information and referral resources.
Have working knowledge of family violence and domestic violence dynamics and willingness to work with individuals and/or families experiencing these issues.
Be able to work independently, organize workload, and maintain required productivity.
Have strong public speaking and writing skills and be comfortable promoting clinic and agency programs and services.
Have a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and automobile insurance coverage throughout employment.
Have knowledge and understanding of Jewish culture and traditions, or willingness to learn about them and those of the agency population.
Pass Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender and Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry screening.

Responsibilities

Provide counseling and psychotherapy services to individuals, families, and children, including intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations.

Meet minimum performance standards, including 70% productivity of clinical time and clinical supervisory and VOCA supports.
Provide clients with information and referrals to resources as needed.
Record and maintain essential client records and statistical data in compliance with agency and state regulations and within required time frames.
Collaborate and confer with agency personnel, volunteers, and professionals from other agencies.
Provide IPV education and consultation services as determined by the supervisor.
Provide clinical supervision and consultation to multidisciplinary department staff, including clinical externs, Master’s-level interns, and licensed staff.
Sign case records and treatment reviews and serve as clinical consultant or supervisor in accordance with state certification and agency requirements.
Confer regularly with the supervisor and participate in supervisory and peer review processes as a team member.
Participate in professional growth and in-service opportunities, attend seminars, and share information with colleagues.
Market services and represent JFS in the Jewish community and the community at large.
Maintain active licensure in good standing, complete required continuing education, and comply with Wisconsin caregiver background check and misconduct reporting requirements.
Accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
