About The Position

The Trauma Registrar maintains a database unique to the trauma population. The role involves identifying, collecting, coding, scoring, and entering data into the trauma registry database, as well as performing follow-up. This information supports incidence, treatment and outcomes tracking, performance improvement, administrative planning and marketing, support programs, and research activities. The position is described as highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging, and involves collaboration with multidisciplinary team members to provide excellent patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) certification within one year of employment for experienced registrars and within three years for new registrars.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) certification or completion of an Abbreviated Injury Scaling (AAAM) course.
• Two years of trauma registry experience at a Level I trauma facility.
