About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Transportation Roadway Intern to join its teams in Jacksonville or Tampa, Florida. The intern will be mentored and trained by technical experts in roadway transportation design and will work within the Design & Engineering teams in the global Mobility business. Arcadis works with clients to design connected, sustainable transportation solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies and improve the movement of people and goods.

The intern will prepare conceptual designs and construction plans using OpenRoads design software. Work includes roadway geometric design, drainage design involving hydrology and hydraulics, and construction engineering and inspection tasks. The position also involves collecting traffic and highway field data and assisting with transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, and traffic engineering projects using relevant design and office software.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in software platforms such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, and related design and office software.

Nice To Haves

• EIT Certification.
• Experience using OpenRoads.
• Basic understanding of applying geometric and traffic operations principles, including AASHTO, MUTCD, and state DOT requirements and policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual designs and construction plans using OpenRoads design software.
