This position is Overtime Exempt per FLSA standards and has been designated as a Career Professional position per the Ohio Revised Code 5501.20. Requirements

  • Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
  • 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research
  • If assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
  • 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642
  • If assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares in-house design plans and reviews designs submitted by District Engineers, consulting firms, and local government agencies.
  • Certifies plans and other engineering documents as a Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Oversees the administration and ensures the successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in geotechnical engineering and provides recommendations for district-level geotechnical projects.
  • Maintains and updates inventories related to geotechnical hazards and retaining wall structures.
