Requirements

  • A degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological engineering
  • Ontario licensed P.Eng., or eligibility for a P.Eng. in Ontario
  • At least 5 years of prior consulting experience working in the field of geotechnical or other related disciplines
  • Proven success in client relationship management and strong leadership skills
  • Comfortable interacting with the public, clients, contractors, and co-workers
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn and teach

Responsibilities

  • Support the goals of the geotechnical team, monitoring and manage operational responsibilities of the staff within the geotechnical group
  • Co-ordination and execution of field work associated with our geotechnical services
  • Preparation and/or review of technical reports
  • Management of project financials and schedules
  • Communications with clients to assist with the development and execution of work
  • Proposal preparation and/or review
  • Ensuring high quality technical work, including field methodology, reporting, and client deliverables
  • Fostering an atmosphere of continuous improvement through on-the-job coaching and guidance to geotechnical staff
  • Collaborating with other disciplines at EnVision with respect to multi-disciplinary projects
  • Travel to sites within the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario, as needed
