About The Position

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This significant project, valued at $2.87 billion, involves the construction of a large embankment dam and associated structures. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience, or undergraduate with at least 5 years of geotechnical experience.
  • Prior experience in geotechnical field investigations, lab testing, and construction oversight.
  • Knowledge of subsurface exploration techniques and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software (e.g., gINT, PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess or be eligible for EIT or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing geotechnical investigations including field exploration, laboratory testing, and analysis.
  • Support the preparation of geotechnical engineering reports, recommendations, and technical documentation.
  • Assist in foundation design and earthwork evaluation for heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
  • Interpret soil and rock data for use in stability analysis and other geotechnical evaluations.
  • Perform site visits and inspections during construction to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations.
  • Coordinate with project teams including civil, structural, and environmental engineers.
  • Utilize geotechnical software and tools for analysis and modeling.
  • Maintain organized records of geotechnical data, reports, and correspondence.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Lead Geotechnical Engineer.
