About The Position

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. You will be involved in the design, manufacturing, testing and implementation of ODOT’s snow and ice removal equipment. You will create technical specifications and drawings for all components of ODOT’s snow plow trucks i.e. chassis, hydraulic systems, plows, bodies. You will work with ODOT’s counties and districts evaluating and training on load and weight distribution of their equipment. You will work alongside of ODOT professional engineers. You will receive hands-on transportation training & experience needed to further your career as an engineer with ODOT.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering
Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.

Responsibilities

Design, manufacturing, testing and implementation of ODOT’s snow and ice removal equipment.
Create technical specifications and drawings for all components of ODOT’s snow plow trucks (chassis, hydraulic systems, plows, bodies).
Work with ODOT’s counties and districts evaluating and training on load and weight distribution of their equipment.
Work alongside of ODOT professional engineers.
Receive hands-on transportation training & experience.
