Transportation Dispatcher - Phoenix, AZ
About The Position
QED is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher in Phoenix, Arizona. The role coordinates with drivers and sales staff to help ensure timely deliveries and pickups, responds to questions or concerns, and assists warehouse staff with picking and packing, will calls, pick-up-now orders (PKs), and truck orders. The dispatcher monitors sales orders during the shift and makes same-day adjustments to routes and truck assignments so routes are completed on time. The position also supports route-efficiency improvements, delivery documentation and data entry, second-run deliveries, truck loading, and same-day special delivery and pickup requests. It serves as a liaison among drivers, sales associates, and customers, and assists the warehouse as directed by the shift manager or lead. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and powered industrial equipment (preferred).
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Good math and reading skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers and sales staff to ensure timely deliveries and pickups, and follow up on questions or concerns.
- Monitor sales orders throughout the shift and make same-day route changes or add trucks as needed to complete routes on time.
- Assist management with improving route efficiency.
- Complete paperwork, documentation, and data entry according to established procedures.
- Assist drivers with second-run deliveries (OT-2).
- Pick and load trucks.
- Assist the city desk with will calls and pick-up-now orders (PKs).
- Serve as a liaison among drivers, sales associates, and customers to support smooth deliveries.
- Support sales staff with same-day special delivery requests, pickups, and on-time deliveries.
- Assist warehouse staff with picking, checking, and loading trucks daily as directed by the shift manager or lead.
- Act in a helpful and cooperative manner toward customers and associates.
