Temporary Transportation Coordinator

About The Position

This temporary, full-time position provides daily support for shipments from suppliers, manufacturing operations, and home delivery agents to customers. The role focuses on meeting customer delivery expectations while ensuring cost-effective transportation solutions through cross-functional collaboration. The assignment supports business needs during a defined period; its length may vary, and continued employment beyond the assignment end date is not guaranteed. An extension may be possible depending on business conditions and performance but is not guaranteed. The schedule may occasionally require evening or weekend availability.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work an alternate schedule that may occasionally require evening and weekend availability.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
Lean/Six Sigma training and/or certification.
Experience using PowerBI or other business intelligence and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

Ensure all truckload shipments have assigned carriers.
Perform tactical home delivery functions, including issue resolution, order management, and agent changes.
Maintain effective communication between manufacturing operations, customer service, home delivery agents, and carriers.
Resolve time-critical transportation and delivery issues using cost-effective methods.
Identify recurring issues, investigate root causes, and drive actions to resolution.
Cross-train in other positions within the department.
Learn department processes and systems quickly to provide immediate operational support.
Adapt to changing business priorities and workload demands throughout the assignment.
Support special projects and operational needs as assigned.
Partner with team members to ensure seamless coverage during peak business periods.
