About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator works with carriers and customer requirements to ensure on-time delivery of orders in the most cost-effective manner. The role prepares shipments and paperwork for domestic and international shipments, schedules carrier pickups, and tracks shipments through delivery, including proof-of-delivery entry and exception management when needed. Professional interaction with carriers and customers by phone, email, and in person is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of administrative support experience or education in a related field.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented.

• Knowledge of supply chain management or transport coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry for shipping document creation and carrier assignment.
• Document, update, and follow procedures and quality processes.
• Use Arvato tools and carriers to obtain rates, check transit times, and generate paperwork.
• Communicate with carriers and customers about shipment updates.
• Contact carriers by phone, email, or website to arrange order pickups.
• Manage cargo claims with carriers.
• Accurately report and track shipments and follow up on exceptions in internal databases and Excel spreadsheets.
• Monitor and adhere to customer requests and vendor-specific requirements.
• Assist facilities and personnel with requests and issues.
• Communicate work-related issues to the Supervisor, Manager, or appropriate authority.
