About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator/Driver loads, transports, and unloads patients for medical appointments and activity outings in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role also includes vehicle pre-inspections and monitoring routine vehicle maintenance.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid state driver’s license or, as applicable, valid commercial driver’s license, with a satisfactory driving record according to Life Care standards.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
Ability to perform the role’s competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
Ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.

Nice To Haves

CNA license preferred.
Prior experience in health care or geriatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely load, transport, and unload patients.
Complete pre-inspections before using the vehicle.
Monitor regular vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations.
Assist in the evacuation of patients.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients.
Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Maintain dependable, regular attendance.
Follow applicable laws, regulations, facility guidelines, company policies, and departmental programs and procedures.
Maintain patient rights, safety, sanitation, confidentiality, and professional working relationships.
Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
