About The Position

The Certified Nurse Aide provides direct care to residents, including resident hygiene and activities of daily living, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The aide performs direct care activities that may be delegated to unlicensed personnel under the New York State Practice Act, applicable regulations, hospital policies, New York State Long Term Care regulations, and Nursing Services standards. The aide also performs unit or department support functions as assigned by the appropriate Registered Nurse and/or manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or obtain it within two years of hire.
• Completion of a New York State-approved Long Term Care training program.
• Current New York State Nurse Aide certification.
• Meet all pre-employment screening and physical requirements.
• Demonstrate training and competency to attend to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of residents receiving care, as applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant.
