Registered Nurse - Skilled Nursing Facility
About The Position
The Registered Professional Nurse manages resident care by using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident outcomes. The nurse directs and guides nursing care, resident education, and related care activities while maintaining professional nursing standards and collaborating with other disciplines as appropriate. This position is based at the CVPH Skilled Nursing Facility in Plattsburgh, New York. It is full time, with 40 standard hours per week and 80 biweekly scheduled hours. The night shift is 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every-other-weekend work. This is a bargaining union position. Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining-unit employees receive priority consideration if they apply within seven days of the posting date; after that, all applicants are considered equally.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with other health care personnel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Meet requirements of physical and pre-placement screening.
- As applicable, have training or competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the ages of patients receiving care.

- Previous experience is preferred.
