About The Position

Allen Lund Company is seeking Transportation Brokers to assist with incoming and outgoing shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. The role involves acquiring and developing customer relationships, coordinating carrier capacity and pricing, managing freight brokerage and load booking, addressing customer issues, monitoring loads in transit, and preparing freight-bill documentation. The position works in a fast-paced, challenging, team-oriented environment and supports the company’s customer service standards and principles.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in freight brokerage or customer service.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic.
Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle conflict.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to process information quickly, make decisions, and work well under pressure.
Excellent and effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

College degree is highly desired, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Contact new customers and acquire customer accounts.
Develop profitable shipping volume with existing and newly acquired shippers and build relationships with developing accounts.
Understand customers’ businesses and identify and solve their problems through consultation.
Deliver exceptional customer service and handle customer-related issues and inquiries.
Contact carriers and build relationships to increase capacity for projects and lanes.
Maintain current knowledge of market freight rates to determine appropriate rates for carriers and shippers.
Offer rates established by Senior Transportation Brokers and management and negotiate as market conditions demand.
Recommend solutions for customers to Senior Transportation Brokers and/or management.
Perform daily check calls on loads in transit.
Originate necessary documentation for freight bills.
Handle freight brokerage and book loads.
Follow company standards and principles of Customer, Company, and Office.
